Yes, you got it right, February 6 is going to be the date for everyone to celebrate Muay Thai.

According to the World Muay Thai Council , the official governing body for Muay Thai around the world, they have designated February 6 as the annual “Muay Thai Day” to be held not only in Thailand but throughout the world.

Now I’m a bit late on posting this but quite frankly, its because I just saw it so you’re gonna have to wait until next year to get your Muay Thai party plans in order.

This year was the inaugural event and was chaired by Sukumon Kunpluem, the Minister for Culture, and Co-Chaired by General Chetta Thanajaro, the President of the WMC. Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan represented the Amateur MTAT and IFMA, and Stephan Fox, WMC VP and IFMA General Secretary, was invited to represent the international muaythai community.

A Krob Khru Ceremony was performed by students paying homage to their teachers. Six styles were represented: Muay Lopburi, Muay Chaiya, Muay Tah Sao, Muay Pak Klang, Muay Korad, and Muay Palasueksa.
