Coral Carnicella will continue to stay on high on the charts when she faces Tierra Brandt on Triumphant 11. The bout in Miami on June 12th will be another test for the Florida native.

Getting Gold
Carnicella has been taking up the awards in her career. She grabbed the A-Class silver medal at 54kg in Bangkok Thailand. Her victory of Chomanee Taeherin was a significant achievement.
The athlete went on to Colombia for the Pan American games. Her voyage to the south had her return home with gold.
The IFMA games are part of the sport building up for the Olympics. To capture top ranked places shows the Carnicella is achieving.
For the Florida fighter it’s feeling of the fight that matters.
“I love how I feel nervous right before the fight. But then as soon as I step in the ring,” she said. “It just like washes away, and it's just you in the ring.”
Training In Texas
Carnicella has temporarily moved to Heritage Muay Thai in Texas in preparation for this bout. She orginally trained with Triumphant headliner Asa Ten Pow, who will still corner her. The Texas based gym is run by Michael Chase Corley.
“Corley knows his Muay Thai,” she said.
As president of the USMF Corley has seen Carnicella perform before. He’s also helped with her opponent, Tierra Brandt. The Texan knew what to do to help improve Carnicella.
“He knew things coming out here what he wanted to correct,” Carnicella said.
Like all westerners Carnicella is working on her inside game as well. The short range game of knees and elbows defines the sport.
“We've been working a lot in the clinch,” she said.
Working With The Best
Moving to Heritage as upped the Florida fighters game. She’s been working with Glory fighter Bekah Irwin. The Texas native is another IFMA medalist who then went on to have success in the international kickboxing organization.
“Becca has really fast kicks and kicks extremely powerful,” Carnicella said. “She's a very high fighter. I feel like my fight IQ is like, leveling up.”
By moving around with better fighters, Carnicella is picking up the extra tools to secure a victory on Triumphant.
